In private markets, we invest in venture and growth-stage companies globally. We look for companies exposed to the strongest growth drivers, high degrees of leverage in the business model, management focus on innovations.
In public markets, our aim is to outperform the market in the long-term by combining our impact investment philosophy with principles of value investing.

Lee Chull-Young
이철영회장은 아크임팩트자산운용의 설립자이자 비상임회장입니다. 1970년대 초 미국 컬럼비아대학교 MBA를 마친 후 삼보증권(옛 대우증권) 기획실장을 거쳐 1978년 가죽과 모피제품을 생산·수출하는 선영상사 대표를 역임한 후, 1983년 컨택트렌즈 전문기업인 바슈롬코리아를 설립, 1998년까지 대표이사를 지냈습니다. 이후 보유지분을 모두 정리한 후 2003년 현재의 아크임팩트자산운용의 전신인 아크(ARK)투자자문사를 세웠습니다.
2005년 당시 용어조차 생소했던 한국 사회에 ‘소셜 앙트러프러너십을 소개하고 전파하기 위해 사단법인 소셜 엔터프라이즈 네트워크(SEN)를 설립하고 초대이사장을 맡으면서 그의 소셜 임팩트의 여정은 시작되었습니다. 같은 해 컬럼비아대학교의 레이 호튼 교수의 도움을 받아 ‘한국소셜벤처대회(SVCK)’를 출범시켰고 이 대회는 이후 ‘아시아소셜벤처대회’(SVCA)로 발전했습니다.
2011년부터 6년 동안 이화여자대학교와 숙명여자대학교에서 소셜 앙트러프러너십과 소셜엔터프라이즈를 가르치는 겸임교수로 활동하기도 했습니다. 2015년부터 5년 동안 SEN 산하에 대학생연합임팩트투자클럽(SAIIC)을 창설하여 대학생들에게 가치투자와 임팩트투자에 대한 교육 프로그램을 기획하고 제공하였습니다.
2017년 사명을 아크임팩트자산운용으로 바꾸고 미국 및 유럽의 임팩트투자 펀드에 직간접으로 투자하는 펀드를 출범시키면서 사회환경적 가치와 재무적 수익을 상호 상승적으로 추구하는 임팩트투자의 영역에 본격적으로 진입하였습니다. 이는 아크임팩트자산운용이 한국성장금융의 사회투자 펀드 운용사로 2019년과 2023년 2회 선정되는 기반이 되었습니다.
2019년에는 아크임팩트자산운용의 임창규전무와 함께 임팩트 투자가 향후 투자의 새로운 패러다임이 될 것을 전망하는 ‘임팩트투자, 투자의 미래’를 공동 발간하였습니다.

Lee Chull-Young is the founder and non-executive chairman of Ark Impact Asset Management.
After completing his MBA at Columbia Universityin the early 1970s, he worked as a planning manager at Sambo Securities (formerly Daewoo Securities), and in 1978, he became the CEO of Sunyoung Corporation, a producer and exporter of leather and fur products. In 1983, he founded Bausch & Lomb Korea, a contact lens company, and served as its CEO until 1998. He later divested all of his holdings and founded ARK Investment Advisory in 2003, the predecessor of ARK Impact Asset Management.
His social impact journey began in 2005 when he founded and served as the first chairman of the Social Enterprise Network (SEN) to introduce and spread "social entrepreneurship" to the Korean community, where even the term was still unfamiliar. That same year, with the help of Columbia University professor Raymond Horton, he launched the Social Venture Competition Korea (SVCK), which later evolved into the Social Venture Competition Asia (SVCA).
For six years from 2011, Mr. Lee worked as an adjunct professor at Ewha Womans University and Sookmyung Women's University teaching social entrepreneurship and social enterprise. In 2015, he founded the Student Association of Impact Investment Clubs (SAIIC) under the umbrella of SEN for five years to plan and deliver educational programs on value investing and impact investing to university students.
In 2017, Ark Impact Asset Management launched a fund that invests directly and indirectly in impact investment funds in the U.S. and Europe, marking its entry into the realm of impact investing, which seeks mutually reinforcing social, environmental value and financial returns. This was the basis for Ark Impact Asset Management to be selected twice as impact fund investment manager by Korea Growth Investment Corporation in 2019 and 2023.
In 2019, he co-published 'Impact Investment, The Future of Investment'
with Changgue Lim of Ark Impact Asset Management.
